Amtrak Ride

Guessed the big news yet? Well, just in case the title of this post didn’t give it away, the town I live in got an Amtrak stop again!! Yes a train stop!! This was the first time in over 40 years there has been a stop in our town.

 One of our signs.

I got the chance to ride on the trip to Texarkana with 150 other people. We made good time boarding the train taking only 11 minutes according to the Superintendent of the Chicago line, Joy Smith. She greeted us upon boarding. I was unable to get her picture.
Did  I mention we had to be there before 5:00 am?! YES 5:00 am. I did get some picture of all of us there.

Coworkers from Historic Washington

Shelia from Sweet Southern Blue
My best friend Holly

Superintendent Brandon and me

We were all bright and cheery at this point waiting for the train.

These are on the side walk leading up to the platform.

The ride over was very smooth. It didn’t seem like we were moving at all. Before long we got to our stop. They helped us off the train and were super friendly. Wonderful people. I did score this cool picture with an employee.

Mr. Curtis Dancy and myself.

Next time Glitter Bug and Hubby will have to ride.  I better get planning on a trip for us this summer including a train.
